About Women in Technics

Women in Technics is a secondment provider that specializes in guiding women who want to transition into the engineering field, especially those who may have hesitated to take that step before or have no experience.

At Women in Technics, we focus on you. A career switch to the technical field is a big step, and we believe in ensuring a smooth transition where your talents are fully utilized. We’re here to support you throughout the entire process, and you can always reach out to us if you face any challenges.

Men are certainly welcome as well; however, we specialize in placing women in the engineering field.

Founded in 2023 by Elles van Teylingen, Women in Technics emerged from the success of Women in Sales. Recognizing a significant shortage of technical personnel in the industry, Elles sought to expand her focus into the technical field. She observed that many women are interested in engineering yet often hesitate to apply for jobs. This gap presented an opportunity to empower women and bridge the talent shortage in the technical sector.

We focus on women because they remain underrepresented in the technical sector. Traditionally, this field has been male-dominated, with a workforce that largely consists of men. Our mission is to support both women and organizations in successfully navigating a changing work environment, fostering inclusivity and opportunity for all.

About our traineeships

No, prior experience in the technical field is not required. During your traineeship, you will be trained to become a professional. All you need is a genuine interest in the technical sector.

The traineeship lasts between 1 to 2 years, depending on the specific program you follow. During this period, you’ll receive both hands-on training and theoretical knowledge, guiding you step by step to becoming a technical professional.

On average, we meet once a month at our office in Hoofddorp for communication and personal development training.

Yes, there are. The specific growth opportunities will depend on the employer you are working with.

For many technical roles, having a driver’s license is a requirement. That’s why we strongly recommend obtaining one. If you’re still working on getting your license, be sure to let us know!

About the DevelopHer Academy

The DevelopHER Academy is a key part of the one- or two-year development trajectory you follow through Women in Technics at one of their clients.

It’s a recurring, monthly training session held at the office, focusing on your personal development, guidance in your new job, and teaching essential communication skills for navigating a male-dominated environment. You’ll participate alongside other like-minded women, which helps build an intimate community where you can share experiences.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.

The DevelopHER Academy is specifically for women who want a job in technology, regardless of their prior education. Whether you already have a technical degree or come from a completely different background, you are welcome.

It’s intended to offer you a stepping stone into a technical company, especially if you find the transition difficult because the sector isn’t always inclusive enough yet. The program focuses entirely on your development so you can become and demonstrate the best version of yourself.

Throughout the entire Women in Technics trajectory:

  • You learn all the ins and outs of the profession.

  • You obtain all necessary certificates and diplomas.

  • You receive intensive coaching from Women in Technics.

Specifically during the monthly DevelopHER training sessions:

  • Attention is paid to your personal development.

  • You learn communication skills that will help you in a masculine environment.

  • You share experiences within a community of women who started working at the same client.

The trajectory through Women in Technics is a combination of working and learning simultaneously. You immediately start working for your new client and attend the DevelopHER training sessions on a monthly basis.

The advantages of this trajectory, which set it apart from a traditional traineeship, include:

  • You receive a (free) training program with a job guarantee.

  • You work and learn simultaneously while earning a full salary.

  • There is constant guidance from Women in Technics.

  • There is a strong focus on your development, and you build a community with other women in technology.

About Women in Technics

What sets Women in Technics apart from other staffing agencies is our focus on women transitioning into the technical field, whether they have prior experience or not. Since they’re stepping into a traditionally male-dominated environment, we provide an additional support network for these women. We also work closely with the companies where our candidates are placed, assessing their current situation and helping them adapt to a more diverse workplace. This ensures a smooth and positive collaboration for both parties.
